April 28th is World Day for Safety and Health at Work
World Day for Safety and Health at Work – an annual observance that raises awareness of the importance of occupational safety and health (OSH). This year, the topic is focused on a safe and healthy working environment as a fundamental principle and right at work. In June 2022, the International Labour Conference (ILC) decided to include “a safe and healthy working environment” in the ILO’s framework of fundamental principles and rights at work. As a result, the Occupational Safety and Health Convention, No. 155 and the Promotional Framework for Occupational Safety and Health Convention, No. 187 were declared fundamental principles.1
At UnitedHealthcare Global, we believe a good OSH culture is one wherein the right to a healthy and safe working environment is respected by all employers and employees. As we continue to face the after effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, and shifting workplace trends such as remote working, it is more important than ever for employers to build a positive workplace environment to support employees in their physical and mental well-being. Through the My Wellbeing app offered by UnitedHealthcare Global, we help enable employees to proactively manage their nutrition, fitness and mental health. The app also monitors mood levels, providing a range of resources to support personal issues or worries. - the health challenges of today and tomorrow. Also available via the My Wellbeing app is direct access to our Employee Assistance Programme (EAP).
We also support a healthy work/life balance with online tools from LiveWell and eMindful.
