September marks Vascular Disease Awareness Month. Vascular disease, which comprises diseases of the arteries, lymphatics, and veins, impacts millions of lives, with 8-12 million people being affected by peripheral artery disease (PAD) alone.1

This awareness month provides us with the perfect opportunity to learn more about vascular disease and this month serves as a chance for us to reflect on the lifestyles we lead, as vascular health is impacted by behavioural choices such as unhealthy diets, physical inactivity, smoking and excessive alcohol consumption.2
