Read a short note from Dr. Amit Arwindekar on Vascular Disease Awareness Month:

September marks Vascular Disease Awareness Month. Vascular disease, which comprises diseases of the arteries, lymphatics, and veins, impacts millions of lives, with 8.5 million people being affected by peripheral artery disease alone.1

Vascular Disease Awareness Month provides us with the perfect opportunity to learn more about vascular disease and this month serves as a chance for us to reflect on the lifestyles we lead, as vascular health is impacted by behavioural choices such as unhealthy diets, physical inactivity, smoking and excessive alcohol consumption.2 So, let’s all help combat the millions of deaths caused by vascular disease each year by fighting unhealthy habits this month and always.
