Read a short note from Dr. Phil Sharples on Dry January:
As we begin a new year, we look to support healthy lifestyle changes that can improve your wellbeing and the well-being of your loved ones. This month, we recognise Dry January – an alcohol-free challenge that sees participants eliminate alcohol from consumption over the month of January. Studies have shown that 86% of participants save more money and around 70% have shown signs of better sleep and more energy.1

Being alcohol-free for 31 days shows us that we don’t need alcohol to have fun, relax, or socialise. It helps us learn the skills we need to manage our drinking. That means that for the rest of the year we are better able to make decisions about when we drink and how much, so we can avoid slipping into drinking more than we really want to.2 Let’s do our best to make healthier lifestyle choices so we can help improve our wellbeing throughout 2022. - Dr. Phil Sharples, Chief Medical Officer, Global Solutions, UnitedHealthcare Global
